Working together for a great cause: Our Community

As you likely know by now, all of us at SquadBuilders believe that great partnerships and teamwork are the heart and soul of a strong organization – and a strong community. Which is why we are so excited about helping our friends at reStart this week.

We have worked together all week to collect lightly used clothing, bedding and sheets to donate to reStart, a local non-profit organization. These items will go a long way toward reStart’s mission, which is to provide shelter and supportive services to help homeless men, women, youth and families move toward independence and self-sufficiency and to end homelessness in our community. A mission it has followed since 1981.

reStart’s overnight shelter has served more than 28,000 homeless individuals, and is the only agency in Kansas City open to all homeless populations, including the youngest members of our community. Its services are free of charge, and are non-sectarian.

We encourage each of you to reach out and help someone in Kansas City. Make a donation to reStart (monetary or in-kind), lend a helping hand to a neighbor in need, or take the time to find a cause close to your own heart. We can tell you from experience, the rewards we reap from giving are priceless!

A special thanks to everyone who participated in the reStart collection, and to the staff and volunteers at reStart. We feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to work with each of you to make our hometown an even kinder, more welcoming place to live.
